About

Jesse Bassett got his first job in a motorcycle shop at age 15 and did everything from sweep the floors to organize parts on shelves. Over the next decade, he got the chance to learn absolutely everything about repairing, restoring and building motorcycles.  From engine restoration, fabrication, machining and even basic service work, he has had the chance to learn from some of the best is the motorcycle industry and in 2009, he started The Gasbox and hasn’t looked back.

First getting attention as a custom bike builder, Jesse stood apart from other builders because of his attention to detail, his blending of old and new, and his overall design aesthetic. Customers from all over the world come to The GasBox for his very special eye and for a one of a kind build. The Gasbox has been featured in just about every major motorcycle publication - print and online - Bike Exif, Silodrome, The Ride coffee table book and many more.

Because of this attention to detail, Jesse started creating his own parts for his builds which included simple parts that just had better “fit and finish” than others on the market- to hard to find/source OEM parts as needed.

In 2017, Jesse’s passion for restoration and quality OEM manufacturing led to him acquiring the Dennis Corso Company - makers of reproduction, vintage OEM muffles and exhausts for more than 25 years. In addition to parts Jesse uses on his builds - including sissy bars, various brackets, air cleaner covers and more - The Gasbox now produces mufflers and exhaust systems for all Harley Davidson models between 1910 and 1984, Excelsior and Super-X, Harley Hummer and Servicar.

The Gasbox is continuing the legacy of 'built in the USA' quality products that everyone from garage hobbyists to professional restorers have counted on for over 40 years.
